| Dave.f Keeps the airbox looking the same as stock, puts a circular filter in and has one of the larger pipes into the scuttles. Its a cheaper, improvement in the JCW box. All the others (stock, GTT) leak hot air so reduce performance. _________________ SnM001.5 | "Jelly Eating Champion 2010" | DSOC007 |

| Might just on the GTT if it stays low then - how do you find it? Did you cut a hole in back panel or remove it completely? |

| if find it good actually it sits well in place and makes a good seal against the bonnet to stop the hot air |

Thats the bit I didn't like, it relys on the bonnet to make the air-lock, and there is no proof it can actually do this as the bonnet has to be closed for you to check!_________________ SnM001.5 | "Jelly Eating Champion 2010" | DSOC007 |

| I had a k&n that Caz has now & now have a gtt cold ram & really happy with, make my miltek sounds fat & keeps cool on long journys. Just remeber especially on the r53 to get one with a cover/guard around the cone to keep the cool air coming otherwise you will have probs if the enguine heat gets near it as i found out. |

| It is easy to test the seal - you put vaseline all round the top rubber of the heat shield, close the bonnet for two seconds, then open it - hey presto you either have a square of vaseline on the bonnet or you don't. But I agree it's a potential weakness - prob why Alta now do a lid on theirs! |

| And isn't the surround a thin bit of plastic? Bad heat gain through those, as opposed to the 6mm thick JCW/Std/Dave.f To be honest, I would go down either: De-flapped JCW or Dave.f Both are the best your going to get for the airbox, both tried and tested. Not sure how much the JCW is though as an upgrade. _________________ SnM001.5 | "Jelly Eating Champion 2010" | DSOC007 |

| Well this is manufacturers claim on heat: "The 5mm air gap between the skins gives a superb thermal barrier. After a hard run the Ram Pipe remains ice cold to the touch. The upper airbox/heatshield is anodised in an attractive blue finish for good appearance and longevity." So who knows? How long is wait list for a Dave.f and how do I contcat him? |

| Well the GTT is currently at £50, which is worth a punt over £130 and a wait for the dave.f. If it goes up above £75 I will lose interest lol |
