PostSubject: Rear 6x9 speakers   31st March 2010, 14:55

Do any 6x9 speakers fit in the rear of a 1st gen Cooper? Just seen some described as 6 x 9 and I have some knocking about.

I always assumed they would be too big but maybe I'm wrong??!

And know-how would be great, and if they will fit (removing the grill from them obviously) and guides around on this?

Thanks everyone,

James. jamski

are you talking about putting them in the parcel shelf? or simply uprating what is in the back?

Just in the back, replacing the existing ones.

then yeah they should be a straight swap Smile, you just have to be careful getting the panels off as their are a lot of clips that can get easily broken

Thanks everyone. Is it the grills over the speakers that pull
off or the whole panel in the side??

And clips are just from the dealers??

Found a thread on NAM that says how to do it, so may have a look sometime. Smile
