I still have 6000K left on the clock before my rears need replacing, Mini quoted about £220 to change them, an independent Mini specialist quoted me £89...

chalk and cheese !!!

LOL just had my brake fluid replaced, TMS checked my brake sensors that showed 14% left on pads yet the engineer said they were almost brand new, recommended that on 6K service that we just change the sensors as its pointless to change pads that have hardly any wear on it...

Shockingly honest and will save me hundreds from a Mini dealer Very Happy

Big shout to TMS from St Albans !!!

Bring on the recall next tuesday and hopefully farewell to the minor death rattle x

Just reading though this post I was quoted alot by a dealer too but not as much as Jay - thats just crazy!

When the rear brakes need changing the handbrake light stays on at yellow - or red
Mine was yellow

I had an independent garage do the pads and sensors and that made the warning light go off - for only £94

It is completely ridiculous what some places will quote, especially the Mini dealers. I totally understand that servicing is where they really make their money on, and also that there are customers out there who will only get their cars serviced / repaired by a Mini dealer but I won't pay ridiculous prices to get a job done that could be done by a non-mini dealer for a considerable lesser cost. Especially now that that EU ruling stated that warranties would be kept intact when service or repairs are done elsewhere now, why should we pay double.

Shopping around at the moment for where to get my car serviced in August, MOT due and my front black circles are losing major threads lol

Does anyone know how much Mini officially charge for their servicing atm ?
