PostSubject: Charity Choosing    31st December 2010, 10:35

Right my little MINI friends (yes, you are all MINI to me, especially you Ian!)

It has nearly been a year since we started raising funds for MacMillan and we have a good amount of ££ in the coffers! I will announce the total at the end of January, but until then it is time to chose a new Charity for the coming year!

So, if you have a charity that is close to your heart (and NOT MacMillan) post it up here with a web link, and a short description and when we have the nominations we will put it to a public vote on the 23rd Jan Very Happy

The final decision will be made on the 31st January and fund-raising will start in Feb Very Happy

Love 'n' hugs

mole

Oi, watch it Moley, it's a good job you're not coming to the pub meet Neer Neer

Are we doing local Surrey charities, like the last time, or are we going more national? Smile

I think it doesn't matter local/national - Different people will put forward different selections. I don't want to force people to chose either way as charity work is a very personal thing Very Happy

Personally I think putting all our money to the big life ride. Great charities and will all go to help his total. He supports us and we should do the same. Smile

I would like to suggest Olly's Rainbow Please Moley, I have had personal experience of Cot Death (my grandaughter) and I know Tom (coopert) has also been affected by a close friends recent loss of Olly. Also this Charity is new and it could really do with our help thumbs up

After the loss of a very brave friend today, I'd like to nominate another local charity - some of you met Andy at the Worthing carnival last year, he was a truly inspirational friend and will be sorely missed. He was cared for by the amazing staff on Bud Flanagan Ward East at The Royal Marsden Hospital in Sutton, who were always so caring, friendly and cheerful.

Their fundraising office is also based at Surrey

Can I echo the nomination for the Royal Marsden. Not only for the reasons outlined above, but they were amazing when Mum was under their care a few years ago.

I feel honoured that my little event is on the list Very Happy

we are raising funds for 4 charities for the fight against cancer.

All the nominations are amazing and extremely worthy of any help they can get.

My vote goes to Ollys Rainbow.
