PostSubject: MINI Touch Up Paint Pen   13th April 2011, 17:05

Hi all,

Not sure its the best place to post but anyway.

I have a few reasonably small scratches on my doors all from before i got it, but my mum has had 2 stone chips appear on the bonnet so we are looking in to getting a touch up paint pen. (As her car is only just 1 year old she is still very thingy about it and doesnt want the scratches on ther any longer than need be!)

My question is are they any good, and how easy are they to use?

Would they be worth the £18 dealer is quoting for one?

Thanks

Smile

JCW GP.

The touch up pens are pretty crap and not easy to use.

My dealer have a smart repair guy who comes in every week - he charged me a tenner to get rid of a nasty bonnet stone chip on my last MINI - after he was done you would never have known it was there! I would try that route.

I have always used it on chilli, hey are very hard to use but if used right give okay results. I always rub the paint down to smooth it over with autoglym paint renovator afterwards. I will be buying a yellow one for the cab. They used to be only £8! So gone up a lot!

Thanks for the advice. I have the same AG stuff but had not thought of using it on fresh paint.
