PostSubject: Rear seat removal?   10th May 2011, 22:06

Have been thinking of removing my rear seats and parcel shelf and getting a set up similar to the GP with the interal brace, has anyone done this and does it reduce much weight?

Think someone on tM has done it.......

You'd save weight for sure but not sure it's worth it and out of interest there's another guy on tM with a GP and he's fitted rear seats etc Laughing

Mmm interesting one it's just I never have anyone in the back and the more weight I save the better for me I guess but not sure what the best parts would be to make it look tidy with the seats missing?

Yeh that's a plan cheers Dave, I think the best answer is to just buy a gp. Oh reality just hit me I can't afford one!

you could buy (i guess you still can) the gp rear delete kit from the stealers, so you can be the same as a gp or there must be other companies by now that have done a version as well!

There is a company over on mini torque that do this. They provide the side panels just like the gp has but for fraction of the pice.

http://www.minitorque.com/forum/f754/gp-interior-rear-delete-panels-set-18391/

Im sure with some small modification you would be able to cut small holes for the mounting of the strut brace.

As above, look at the Oranje products on MiniTorque.

Anyone got any up dates regarding rear seat removal for my R53

As far as I'm concerned the side panels can stay, just want a neat floor that's left
