PostSubject: Glovebox Gremlins   20th July 2011, 23:39

Hey all, just wondered if anybody can help or has had similar problem?

Basically the glovebox on Sarah's mini has decided to start opening of its own accord...
I started noticing it when going over bumps but on closer inspection it seems that a gental
tug on the top of the glovebox opens it, its becoming a bit of a running joke as it keeps
randomly opening whilst driving along Laughing

Ive had a look around inside and there doesn't appear to be anything I can tighten up or
adjust? Rolling Eyes

Any ideas guys?

Thanks in advance Smile

Hey I also have a glove box gremlin but a bit different. Dan Hope you dont mind me jumping in here with my problem

Can anyone please help me too.

PROBLEM
When I stop at lights or a junction I sometimes can here this loud clicking noise, like the indicator is on but twice as fast. If i rev the engine it stops and then start again when I stop the revs. When i open the glove box door the light is flickering on and off to the sound of the clicking. This does not happen all the time but more often in the winter months and can go anything up 6 months before I here it again. I think it may happen more often but I have my music on rather loud and may not here it

Ive taken the car into MINI but they can't work out why it's doing this. scratch scratch scratch

One theory was aliens are trying to contact me in moss code via my glove box jocolor jocolor jocolor

Any serious solutions guys. scratch study .

Personally? I would disconnect the light! I never installed the light when I put mine in as I didn't see the point as the glove box was so small.

It COULD be an electrics problem with crossed wires which could lead to bigger problems Sad

My glove box keeps opening but only after hitting lumps/potholes and only since fitting coilovers , I just put it down to the stiffer suspension . scratch
