PostSubject: de-chrome?   29th December 2011, 00:52

Love the look of the MINIs with the black mods, headlight rings, etc. (example, ChilliJCW)

I am already planning to get wheels powder coated black. still uncertain as for gloss black or matte black though.

I also want to get the stripes re-done or changed at some point. I do like the single thick stripe but not sure this will look right on the Pepper White with the two head lamps I have. so if i keep the two stripes should I look at getting the roof wrapped black?

I am not into the chrome look that much so want to start changing bits to black. What do you think? Will it look right or is it too much contrast between the pepper white and black? does the chrome break it up a bit?

One last thing, bought the black Cooper spoiler from SpykeyMyk, and unsure as to what to do in terms of colour coding? get the spoiler wrapped or the roof? I am unsure of the black roof with pepper white stripes (opposite to the body) ... Will it look totally out of place if I leave all as is and put the black spoiler (without stripes) on the pepper white with stripes??

Hope all makes sense Very Happy

I would go gloss black wheels. Then have the headlight rings done in pepper white, and take the stripes off. Lower it. Would look amazing Smile

Gloss black wheels, black wrapped roof to match spoiler, change nothing else. Wink

You will certainly get loads of ideas when you see our MINI's and what we have done to them, I have Gloss Black Wheels & matt black headlamp rings & rear light surrounds, but then my car is Black thumbs up have a think about the graphics and give Dan @ DS Graphics a buzz (he is one of our site sponsors) he is a great guy and will help you out with designs/ideas etc.,

BTW - I see your MINI every day and its lovlely but I would GET IT LOWERED! it will look the n**s High
