i really hope they dont base it on the coupe. A GP has to be a hatch!

What a waste of time, just the BMW machine making money. There is only one GP and to be fair they got that one spot on.
Most FJCW have 220bhp standard, so for the extra money they will charge, what remove seats, lower the car like they really should of, well if you want a lighter car buy a basic one and stick a FJCW Engine in it , now i could go on but hey its people's choice hey just not mine.

I agree with both of you - but it still might be a great car. Smile

I do agree as well but if it was as great as the Gen1 GP then it could be exciting but I fear the cost will be sky high!!!!

Interesting you guys think they got the gen 1 GP right. I never thought it was that good. So many things they could have changed on the car and they didnt. The body kit should have been colour coded for a start. So many parts should have been standard on it - JCW bits. I hope they make a GP hatch too!

Vikki, would you really want JCW parts on your limited edition car, they named it a GP so really they should only have GP parts on but they designed it with a price point in mind.
I would agree that they could of done a better job on the dash layout materials and made it a bit more bespoke, i still beleive they have got the FJCW R56 wrong in this department as it should have recaro's and carbon parts as standard.

I loooove the GP and wouldn't mind one sitting on my drive. yahoo

Not sure about trying to recreate it. The GP is unique. BMW are getting too money orientated and big pockets. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Most generation of cars albeit MINI, BMW, Merc etc have special editions & I don't see any problem of having a Gen2 GP as long as it is just that! Smile

Hi paul
I agree with you, the FJCW would be better with recaro seat as standard. Years ago I had the Fiesta RS TRUBO and they came as standard it that.
I love the GPs at if I'd realised they had plans the bring out another then I would of waited.

Have to agree with Paul, not sure a new GP would be worth the money. Even if they follow the same recipe as the gen 1, a bit more power, less weight, no rear seats, uprated suspension. im sure it would be a great car, but you could probably make an even better one yourself buying aftermarket parts but still following the same recipe! The amount you spend on parts may even be less than what BMW will charge for it.

Still want them to make one though, really hope its not based on the coupe.
The GP is a HOT HATCH, not a luke warm coupe
