PostSubject: Removing part of front bumper...   1st December 2009, 16:12

Right as most of you know i put a Cooper S front bumper on my One a few weeks ago. After driving it for a while i have been clipping the ground alot more often in carparks, speed bumps....

When looking at the car i saw this piece of plastic on the undersude that looks like it can be removed. Has anybody done this or has any infor mation why i should/should not?

Hi Andy,

That piece of trim is held on by push in rivets, its just a finishing trim, to remove it is quite easy you just push the middle pin of the rivets through. You would see that there is trim missing though if you were on your hands and knees, its upto you, it was something though we noticed quite alot when I was at MINI.

no its not! is the mini one suspension softer than the cooper s?? that may be the cause if it compresses more on bumps?!

My under bumper does scrape every now and again, reminds me to drive more gently over bumps!!

My one scrapes when I land the other side of some speed bumps, like what's been said before it just reminds me to take it a bit easier over them!!
