PostSubject: exhaust drone - keeping the noise on the outside   22nd December 2012, 16:35

Right, to after changing my exhaust 2 times I've finally got it sounding how I like it on the outside but when the revs build up like on the motorway I get the associated drone noise.

I don't mind it on the outside but any advice on making it a bit quieter on the inside??

I've heard about diamonmat but haven't seen any guidance on where's best to apply

Anyone??

It's a bit of a mix actually. Evolve sports cat and rear section and a scorpion front pipe. All non-res and pretty loud

I have to say it should not be that loud, Evolve rear box is not that loud, if drone is the issue by a Jetex DB killer all stainless steel well made and gas flowed to match non res exhaust.

Will that get rid of the drone only because it crackles and pops lovely and I don't want that to go. Is this a case of not being able to have both the cake and eat it this time??

Not sure with your set up, but on my challenge exhaust it does and that still pops and bangs.
