PostSubject: Rear Window Wash Thingy LOL   18th December 2009, 20:53

Please excuse my vague use of technical language.

The back window wash doesn't seem to actually come out properly, it sort of dribbles like around the bottom instead of squirting up the window LOL and as the roads are all gritted i kinda need to use this to be able to see Razz

Any suggestions?

Also my window wipers back and front are naff is there anything i need too look for in getting new blades? are some brands better than others?

Any help greatly appreciated

fankooooo Very Happy

More than likely blocked up from the dirt the mini's kicked up the back. A good clean or using a pin in the hole normally sorts it out.

I personally use the flat blades from Tesco but you can buy from halfords or ebay. The flat ones are better & fit the round screen better.

Back i got of ebay but bro fitted Razz

Also would recomend some Rain X as that helps on clearing you windscreen better to.

I am sure the boys can help more tho

To be honest, on the back I wouldn't be too fussed. I've never replaced mine but have looked. It seems like there's a but of plastic moulded with the blade so it may be a BMW job??!!

As for the washer, could be blocked, or just make sure the tank is full??!! Smile

The water in the pipe could be frozen if the nozzle isn't blocked Rolling Eyes

Have you checked the water in the washer bottle has the correct screen wash Question if it's been deluted to much then it will freeze Exclamation

I brought some normal wiper blades from Halfords for Julies MINI recently and they are useless Mad

Think I may give the flat blades a try Smile

Yeh get the flat ones there so much better. I like the Tesco ones are the faily good & cheaper than halfords. Its just the clip is big so not very fancy Laughing

They last ages to clap

Also get some Rain x to as thats also helps clear you windscreen faster in this wet/sleety weather

There are normally 2 reasons for a blade to be noisey........

1/ The blade has aged and the rubber has gone hard/brittle, so because of this it tends to jump/judder across the screen were as a new blade will be more plierable and not judder.

2/ The blades are dirty, this can be resolved be cleaning the blades, try using vinegar, put some on a cloth and give the blade a good clean, you will be suprised with the dirt that comes off.

Very Happy

Washer thing is easy - How long have you been driving the car for? MINI's have heated wash lines to combat freezing, if the washer fluid is full up then it is likly that most of it is frozen and the lines haven't managed to un freeze them yet, if you drive for about 3 0mins it should sort itself out Smile
