Just out of interest, as someone who has had their pops and bangs removed by a flash update, will or does a remap bring them back? At the end of the day, it's only how the software is written, right?

Yours was built before mine and it was about that time the flash was introduced!

Cheapest option is to first remove the resonator/silencer half way down the exhaust, should start to burble more + not an insurance declaration :-)

You are modifying the car from the factory spec so should be declared to your insurance. And personally, i think having the silencer removed isn't the best idea. It makes the car unbelievably droney.

Every ECU is different and so is every engine

After Garry's & Phils trouble its not a option for me and i would heavily advice against it as it puts unnecessary strain on components

Lohen dont offer a remap service for the R56 - it was in development but was stopped

I spoke with Emma about the few times i had been down. They like testing the map in the real world before they would sell it to customers

Its a £30 mod which if you do it right you can put it back if you really don't like it, and regarding modifying from standard I don't believe it's mandatory to have a silencer but do completely agree that it will drone as mine does and drives me mad sometimes

I ahd no problems with the remaps on my R57 and R56 Ss, but obviously extra boost will put a strain on any engine beyond what is usual.

Having said that, I wouldn't have an S without a remap again, they just feel a little too underpowered compared to more recently developed warm/hot hatches now time has moved on. Hopefully the F56 will address that.

It was just out of interest really. The pop was fun and is sadly missed. I think we should unite and demand our pops back. "What do we want" ? POPS!! "When do want them"? NOW!Very Happy
