PostSubject: Anyone reviewed the AEM CAI?   18th November 2013, 18:56

Looking to make proper use of the scoop on the Cooper S by getting one of these AEM CAI systems. Anyone had one of these yet who can let me know what they think?

I had an ALTA CAI before but didn't like that it was pulling in hot air so went back to the panel filter

That's the one, although the link I added was possibly cheaper than lohen. When are you looking to get yours?

Does anyone in the forum have one of these yet?

Well i am gonna get it done alongside my coilovers installation as Lohen will be doing the work on my JCW

I dont trust anyone else - I am very picky who touches my JCW plus Lohen races MINIs themselves so they know alot

No one in our forum but i know a few people who have it installed and say it makes a significant difference

People forget Lohen do price match and there is room for negotiation

I am thinking March time, what about you?

ps Lohen will be doing xmas deals soon...

Thinking about one for a christmas present for myself Wink

I like the idea of actually using the scoop.

How come the prices seem to have gone up recently?

May indeed ping Lohen an email a bit sooner then if they price match the £275 this chap on mini torque is selling them for.

I'm possibly looking at getting one just after Xmas in early January as long as the price is right. Should make good use of the M7 scoop I have. May then decide to put the forge bov on again

They would consider a pricematch?! There shouldn't even be a discussion, the price should just be matched. Otherwise they're ripping you off!

I don't think they would purposely rip anyone off, but us non retailers would like to know the markup on things like these

I dont see the point in a price match. Whats the point. Just buy it from the cheaper person dont you.

I use the ALTA CAI and think its great, deffo don't have any loss of power due to so called heat soak even on the hottest days this year or cuing to hit the strip at MITP, I did remove the little black grill from the bonnet scoop but then I drilled out the blocked holes to get as much cold air through as poss and then re fitted it. Before and after the grill mod iv had no issues. I was interested in getting the air duct part of the AEM kit to see if it makes any diff to my ALTA kit but cant seem to find just that part of the AEM kit for sale.
