Whilst its amazing that it is prestine, the phrase 'Never Driven' is quite saddening too Sad

I have to agree with Phil, and if it is worth anywhere near £45k is debatable!

If you paid the asking price, then unless you stored it (what's the point) then when you drove it the value would only ever go down, certainly no investment...

they need to give this car to a museum. dont think it would ever be like the old day's where people brought cars to drive, and you find the odd one thats been stored for a few years,i.e.:contain escort.there is to many people that just buy's cars and bikes now and just stores them for a few years, and make money on them, good if you can,but a car and bike is meant to be driven at the end of the day,

does look nice tho....

Many classic cars like this have become better investments than gold over recent years, also unlike property investments, etc there is no capital gains tax to pay when you sell on at a profit......as cars are considered machines by HMRC and therefore a depreciating asset. Sadly this means many classic cars like Mini's are no longer bought by enthusiasts to drive but purely as investment objects locked away while stored in private collections and de-humidified specialist warehouses until appearing in a few years time to be sold at a profit. If this Mini was driven any distance it would of course instantly de-value its unique as new 'mint boxed' condition. I guess the original buyer of this Mini had the foresight and should get a good return on his original investment back in 2001, whatever the final selling price based on current values.

While prices can crash in a crisis, like property investments it will nearly always recover in the longer term as long as you don't have to sell during any of the downturns!

Now listed as sold!

Hahahaha!!! It isn't a car now, it's an ornament. I'd much rather have a very low mileage one that can e used and enjoyed, rather than one that's now mechanically poor in condition.

Both cars are so specialised and to be bought only by other people who intend on collecting. Maybe as Rich said - a museum or Plant Oxford should buy it for their collection

If the Cooper was a really early example then I could understand a high price but that's crazy money and you could total restore one of that year for far less and then buy the GP1 Wink

The GP1 is desirable and maybe a collector will pay up to that price, to me looking at the disc photo it has rusty edge which surely wouldn't be the case if stored in a heated garage?

I wouldn't touch either of them. They're now ornaments. A car is a machine, and machines need to be used. Bit like low mileage cars, unless it's been a dry days in summer car, they're not all they're cracked up to be. A high mileage rep mobile that's been up and down the motorway and done 120,000 miles is a better buy mechanically than a car that's never seen a long run in it's life. Starting and stopping the engine, predominantly when cold, is the cause of engine wear.

A true classic, looks brand new, was it worth that much? Someone thought so Smile

Now if I had somewhere to store it (and a spare £15K) I'd pay that.
