Not sure if this has been published already, price seems to have dropped £24 from the previous offer of £399.

Haggle and get it cheaper Wink they have big enough mark up on parts and sky high labour rates..

How long do they take to fit? No idea what the light units cost but I'd say they're a great money spinner!

The big problem I find with drls is the amount of people who use them as side lights - regardless of brand they're horrifically dazzling in low light. They're a terrible idea if you ask me - the Swedish headlights on method was much better, but if you can't see a car in broad daylight you simply shouldn't be on the road!

The trouble I find with drl's this time of year is yes very bright from the front but the rear is unlit!

Just don't understand why they aren't front & back?

Valid point actually Dave, I've often wondered the same thing. Would make sense, although I dare say some idiots may get them confused with brake lights despite the significant difference in brightness!

I've got DRL's but it's pointless as I always drive with my headlights on anyway - I think it harks back to my biking days....

While it was a nice little bonus to find that my GP had already been fitted with the DRLs, I haven't actually made much use of them yet. Now I'm driving a dark coloured MINI, and at an increasingly dark time of year, I'm always driving with the headlights on anyway.

Driving on the M25 recently in bad spray conditions I noticed quite a few cars overtaking me with lights on and yet, after they had passed they seemed to have no rear lights. The cars have bright front DLRs but no rear lights on and many drivers are not aware of this in some driving conditions (fog, bad spray, twilight etc) which is dangerous. It does not help that many cars now have the led dash lights on at all times so there is no clue from the dash being in darkness.....until auto on headlights becomes standard on all cars I guess this is going to be a common problem that the EU lawmakers did not allow for.

I find that problem too. That said I've yet to find any car with auto headlights that are worth having. The DRLs blind you because they're so bright (at least as bright as full beam), and I cannot understand why they're needed anyway - it's broad daylight! If it isn't broad daylight and visibility is reduced then headlights are required. If you can't see a car in daylight you shouldn't be driving.

The Volvo system of just having the headlights on all the time is the best way. It's simple, effective, means you've got taillights also and above all it removes the potential for dazzling whilst also meaning your car doesn't look like you've stuck some tat light rope you got from a market stall on your car.

I find the worst ones are the ones like were fitted to audis a few years ago with the led squares that made up a line rather than the tube style ones that a lot are fitting. Partly because they were bigger and looked a bit :S

I do wonder what the replacement costs will be like - a lot with LED tail lights have the bulbs soldered to the light units so when they go you have to buy an entire taillight as opposed to just replacing a bulb. Well on VAG/Land Rover/BMW it's the case anyway, which can be pretty expensive!

I think they're front for pedestrian safety, to be seen.
