PostSubject: FJCW P0136 O2 sensor code   15th February 2016, 13:35

Hi all,

New to the forum but not new to mini's. I have recently come from an r53 to a R56 FJCW.

Just had a code come up. P1036 O2 sensor circuit bank 1 sensor 2. Iv noticed the cars been sluggish recently aswel. This is the second time its come on. I cleared it using a Bluetooth adaptor and it stayed off for a week.

The car does noticeably feel sluggish, like theres a lack of torque. The turbo feels like it wants to give more power but feels like its being"restricted" almost.

I had to replace the hard plastic intake pipe last week as it had cracked at the turbo end. I thought that this had cured the problem but its back. Im unsure how long the pipe was cracked. The turbo inlet looks fine.

Could the ecu still think that the pipe is cracked and is still trying to adjust the fuel trims? Is there a specific time that the "adaptions clear"?

Anything i can check before i start throwing sensors at it?

Im using the torque app so anyone know if id be able to narrow down the O2 sensor as the problem using this?

Also i dont think the cars ever had a decoke. Could this cause a o2 sensor code?

Just realised i made a typo in the original post, its actually a p0136 code.

I am also now getting a p0141 code and a p0139 code.

Any ideas? Im not convinced its the sensor throwing the code.

Could the need for a decoke cause o2 sensor codes?

I envy you! Iv Allways had car with sensors unfortunatly. However if i did have an old car it would have just as many problems, just my luck! Ha. I came from an r53 that had so many problems. Bought this cos i thought it would be hassle free as was fed up with the r53 ha
