Can you swap standard tyres to run-flats on the gen3 cars, specifically the F56?

Is the car built with all the sensors etc., at the factory?

Thanks.

I have OEM runflats on my F56. Would think the sensors are part of the valves and should not be able to tell if they are runflats.

Runflats seem much more comfy on the F56 than the R56 btw.

My F56 also has run-flats, and I agree wth Phil that they are far better on the F56 than they were on the R56. I ended up putting non-run flats on my R56 JCW.

Just make sure your rims are Eh2.... it will be imprinted on the rear of the spokes somewhere. I'm sure they will be.

Eh2 is the "double hump" that prevents the tyre leaving the rim even at zero psi..... if a runflat went flat on a "normal rim" it is very likely the tyre would leave the rim when cornering.

As I say, I'm sure the alloys being Mini, will be eh2 but definitely worth a check.

I hadn't realised the TPMS technology had moved on, from ABS/rotation speed difference, to a device behind the valve.

I guess I've just got rather used to run-flats, and not having to worry immediately about the inconvenience of the odd puncture, just the cost.

I'll check for the EH2 thing.

They are also a lot more expensive Richard and do need replacing every now and then due to needing new batteries..
