Marmite2 is in the dealers again A few issues...... 1/Rattle at the front which I have traced to the consul by the rearview mirror 2/Small vibration from the front - possible from road surface or even a wheel bearing, it's a job to pinpoint 3/Cold start rattle investigation They have it to Friday so I have yet another loan vehicle, MINI One Auto

Oh dear Dave, not good. Fingers crossed for you, I think I discovered the same dashboard rattle on Sunday with Cooper Dave. Was a rare occasion not to have the stereo on.

Had a few unacceptable dash rattles in mine - the dash has been out twice. It now tends to rattle for the first mile or two and then goes quiet. The price of a stiff chassis - irritating all the same. Hope they sort it.

Yeah dash rattles definatley a MINI thing! I have a passenger seat rattle kind of annoying, but tend to listen to music in the car anyway! Bad Luck Dave hope it all get sorted without any of the 'regular dealer services'

Just picked Marmite2 up from the dealers The vibration was traced to the cooling fan, maybe explains why it seemed worse at different times, part replaced, not sure what part of the fan unit was replaced though Various dash rattles were overhead consule by mirror packed out, dash stripped and repacked & new A pillar cover fitted as clip broken Cold noise not done as didn't do while there On my way to collect it I passed a petrol garage and there was my car getting a drink not filled but about the same as when left as I took all the OBC readings and left them in full view

couldn't believe the difference driving down there in the loan car, standard suspension, 15" wheels and NO r/f's it was far far smoother I was really impressed and the road holding was great, it felt like you had more control

6 speed, it was a little sluggish pulling away unless you hit the pedal but it was suprisingly good all from a 1.4 I had the use of Clubbie S auto for 4 days about a year ago, it had the floppy paddles etc it was great fun but thirsty although that was proberly me playing with the paddles

My MINI is an Auto - no paddles tho It's loads better than the Corsa I had. Fuel Consumption is not bad OBC says It's doing 32 mpg mixed driving. Hope you get Marmite2 Sorted Dave - Has Service improved @ Barons?

Hope you get Marmite2 Sorted Dave - Has Service improved @ Barons? You have the Cooper though don't you Mike This was a 1.4 where your's is 1.6 I set the OBC when I got it and over 3 days it ave'd appox 38 mpg in my S on the same route, same times of day going to/from work I ave 36 MPG I was suprised there was so little in it Can;t say if service is better or not The girls on reception are fantastic so friendly and helpful, I did get 2 update phone calls while it was in but the handover when I picked it up was poor in my view. I will send the Service Manager a email on Monday, he promised my that when I picked my car up thaat someone would come out with me to make sure I was satisfied, when I was given the key I asked if someone was coming out and was told no need to as it had been tested |
