Hi all Ok so i am getting my teeth into all this mini stuff channel swaps etc However can someone enlighten me - most here seem to say the standard sytem is shocking. I got my 57 plate second hand and to be honest it sounds really quite good Bass is on +5 Treble +2 i think with -3 on the rear And the rears are definately kicking out bass and no rattles it hasnt had a channel swap done because the fader still works correctly so am i missing something and yes i know crap when i hear it have come from an X5 an that had a brill system in it

Its not that bad with bass turned up, although I a;ways had mine on bass +6, if your happy with the sound don't worry with the channel swap. I did it because I listen to a lot of 'bass based' music so wanted a bit extra.

Katie has this in Belle and it is fine. The hifi upgrade version in my R57 Scuzzy was rubbish!!! Althought I hear the Hardon Kardon new hifi upgrade is better. The R50/52/53 basic boost unit is better than anything I have heard in an R55/56/57, and the HK upgrade on that is even better. Yet another thing that got worse from gen 1 to gen 2!

I have the HiFi upgrade and think it's great Maybe it's the R57 Paul we did talk about it once Julie has a R53 with bass boost and I think mine is better

Although there must be a reason everyone said the second gen hifi upgrade was pants and they had to redevelop it from Sept 09 with HK

I think the standard system in the R56 is really bad. The bass is really bad unless you put it up to plus 6 and then it distorts and stuff.

All I can say is I'm more than happy with mine, then again I don't drive around with it blaring out I like to listen to the exhaust popping & roar

Hey guys no arguing All i will say is i sat in the back and all i get is bass coming at me - but from reading here it would seem that the cross over limits bass being sent to the rears Thanks If i manage to get to a meet youre welcome to have a listen
