| .. Guys, I've posted this on other sites asking if anyone knows about retro-fitting Mini Connected to a Mini, and I finnally got an OFFICIAL answer; --- Thank you for your continued patience whilst I have been awaiting clarification from our Product Marketing Team. I can confirm that it is possible to retrofit MINI Connected to any vehicle with option 606 or 6FP produced since August 2010 which has been recently confirmed for the UK in March. Our Product Marketing Team recommend that you contact your local MINI Approved Dealership who will be able to confirm the cost of retrofitting this option. I trust that this information clarifies the situation, however, should you require any additional information or assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me again. Yours sincerely MINI UK --- .. I've asked them for the option/part number so the dealers can find the part.. I'll let you know. I also wanted to know if anyone had Mission Control on their MINI..? |

Both can be retro-fitted, although the Mission Control maybe built into the next Mini iPhone app which can be access through Mini Conntected |

| Ok, here's the latest (from Cooper Croydon); Apparently the Mini Connected is free, its just the installation of 1.5hrs you have to pay for (approx. £218). There is no part number as far I can tell, and it classified as a "Computer Upgrade". .. I'll let you know how it develops. |

| ... it would appear that Cooper Croydon has made an error; it's not free (it seemed strange at the time)... ... needless to say I think they've lost interest as its 'difficult/complicated' to research & find stuff out. I persevered and spoke to Cooper Tadworth (yes you did tell me..) and it appears James has tracked it down; here is his response...
Hi Martin, As per our conversation a moment ago we are able to order a MINI Connected enabling code for your MINI JCW. The cost of the retro fit is £471.84 Inc VAT, here's the break down; - Labour: £163.20 + VAT - Code: £230.00 + VAT --------- Total: £393.20 + VAT As a special order and chassis specific, we would require full payment in advance for the code, which is non refundable. Kind regards, James Valente MINI Service Team Leader Cooper Tadworth MINI Dealer 90 The Avenue Tadworth Surrey KT20 5AA Tel: 01737 819190 Fax: 01737 819191 Email: james.valente@ir.inchcape.co.uk Web: coopertadworthmini.co.uk |

I think retro-fit most things will add cost - will let you know how it works out. I think the platform (connected) as a lot of potential as app's can be updated and produced a lot quicker than firmware upgrades for mini's own internal computer. The app itself draws on a lot of information from the car; engine, safety & environment (inside & out) dynamically change the app. |

Mini Connected will work with a late 2010/2011 Mini with either Visual Boost or Sat Nav already installed . |

| Good news! .. George has been upgraded with Mini Connected successfully retro-fitted! Took about 2~3hrs to complete, maybe because it was their first on? But I know that firmware for multimedia and telephone needed to be upgraded prior to installing Connected. .. I think the part # for Mini Connected is M65.90.2.219.124 .. any questions, just let me know! |

| .. well 90% there! if anyone has a factory install Mini Connected, can you let me know if the 'Plugin' option is shown on the Mini's display? I've tried the snap-in (which the FAQ say isn't compatible), the full media y-cable (which I use to see video content) and the Apple sync cable. The 'plugin' option doesn't appear - should it be listed regardless within the menu? |
