was wondering if anyone could help .
the problem i have is when i pull away from a standing position the car judders and a knocking noise can be herad , does any one know what might be wrong , this only seems to happen in first gear, if i pull away in second its fine .

Hmm, sounds like what happens when you try and pull away in a too high gear?

It isn't going into third or something funny like that? Not very up on cars, so not sure if that is even possible

yep thats it, its not going into different gears on its own all the gear changes are fine it only happens when i pull away in first ???????

if your clutch is wright at the top you mite need new one,is it slipping

clutch seens finenot slipping and not at the top . had a new one in last year car has only done 4000 miles since it went in .

sounds like you mite be getting oil on the plate to me,if it only does it when you pull away,is it all the time,ie from cold or hot,can you smell anythink when you driveing?

I believe it's a trait of the MINI clutches. Mine does it from time to time. Will do it for a day then not do it again for weeks. Same as you said. Only when your pulling away in first. Have found quite a bit about it on the forums.

noticed it more when its hot cant smell anything when its driving .

sounds like the clutch plate,give svg a ring or drop them a pm,thay will tel you more,thay are a nice bunch of guys down there,

Mine done that for a while then my drive shaft went....don't know if that could be any help ......
