Subject: Water stains on cloth seats 6th July 2011, 08:42
Yesterday in the downpour I threw my brolley on to the passenger footwell and water dropped on to the seats. This morning I am left with great big water stains. This has reminded me why I prefer leather for that one and only reason! Chilli did this and I could never get them out. Are the R56 seats any better and what should I use to get these out?

The best way to get them out is to shampoo the seats as it removes the stain and pulls the water out of the seat at the same time

Thanks, any decent stuff you recommend? As it's the water that's caused the cloudy outline stain

Try Autoglym Interior shampoo with a damp cloth (don't rub - just dab) , then rinse and squeeze out and dab the stain dry. Let it dry and voila!

I would just try some APC and a wet vac if you have them.

Everytime I open the door after it has been raining water falls from the roof onto the seat...used to happen on my old MINI too but I notice it more on this one! - Joys of owning a MINI
I should put a seat cover on and take it off in the summer lol

Its like a vacume cleaner but it has a built in water tank that is used to clean the fabric.
I use this on my seats, it pretty my liquid proofs them so you can just wipe if off.

I got a vax steam cleaner thing from Robert Dyas shop on special offer for only £34!!!! It has worked, took a while to come out but I reckon seats will look like new after a couple of goes!
Highly recommended and you can clean your windows and floors with this thing!
