Hi, I've just got a convertible and notice that theres a button on the key that looks like it should open the boot, but doesn't.

Assume this is normal and just lazy use of same parts by BMW sharing keys with the hatchbacks versions.

Am I wrong? Or should this button open the boot on convertibles.

Oops sorry just realused this should be in the Gen1 section.

When the car is locked, if you press the boot button on the key, it will just unlock the boot for you - make sure you don't put the key inside the boot and then shut it, as it automatically locks it again, with your key inside!

I know I should not admit this, but I have lock my keys in the car twice so do take care not to put the keys down. Lucky for me on both occasions I was outside my house so I could get the spare key
