MINI’s March Production Changes

As is customary, MINI will be rolling out a handful of key changes for production starting this March. As is typical they call into three categories: color and trim, new and/or updated options and restrictions.

• The White Silver package with the Clubman will not be available with a white roof starting 03/12
• Clubman gets the optional JCW Package complete with aero-kit
• Clubman JCW also gets the aero-kit as standard
• New iPod/iPhone cradle for the Countryman
• The Countryman Cooper S gets a new 128 mph speed limiter
• The Clubman to be offered with Spice Orange
• The Hot Chocolate convertible top is phased out
• Laser Blue and Laguna Green phased out.
• MINI Yours bonnet stripes and side scuttles offered in black
• All R5X models get Reef Blue (replacing Laser Blue)
• Special editions start production: Baker (R56 MCS), Baywater (R56 MC and MCS, and the Highgate (R57 MC and MCS).

And the biggest news? The R59 MINI Roadster goes on-sale February 25th.

Getting rid of Laguna green so soon was a mistake. Didn't even get chance to get ordered. Getting rid of laser blue - so thats another bright colour gone! I do like reef blue, but by the same merit its not exactly bright. Colour choice is going down the pan!

I'd consider a Highgate if it was a hatch, and getting rid of the hot chocolate convertible top - shame as it looked great on pepper white for example. Black too.

128mph speed limited?! Why!? Is that a joke?

I thought the JCW clubman got the aero kit anyway?

I wanted a Lazer blue mini! I wish Mini would stop changing colours to often.

Got to agree. I really liked the Laguna Green although for some reason it was offered as a hideously expensive (why?) option.

I had heard that it was due to some safety reasons, for the USA, but I don't know how true that is

If they are limiting the Cooper S Countryman to 128mph what will the JCW be limited to when released?

I hope they're not limiting the UK models too, although I don't suppose many S countrymans would ever hit that limiter but...

Don't think we got up to those speeds did we Ian but they felt pretty stable to me at speed

Nowhere near those unfortunately, but the way we were throwing them round, they felt pretty stable then!
