PostSubject: It's that painful time of the year folks ...   It's that painful time of the year folks ... Empty27th February 2012, 14:19

So my insurance on my PW08MCS is due on the 15th March, currently with 1st Central and they have quoted me a whopping...

£440 !!!

Thats a whole £60 less than last year considering I have 6 points and an accident claim in the last five years...

Tried Adrian Flux and they quoted me £465, GreenLight went into the £600s...

Does anyone else have any suggestions that I could try before I part away with my hard earned cash ? I also tried A-Plan but awaiting a quote from them...

The only problem with 1st Central is that they won't let you modify a thing, I asked them anything at all, they said nothing, zilch, zip, zero, not even a magic tree...

But then again, if I can survive another year of no claims or points, then I get 3 points and my accident removed !!!

Quote me happy peeps yahoo

Jay
I use Sainsbury
Nobody has come close to them
If you are a new insurer you also get Green flag for free + Nector points!

My cars up in March
Saying that Sainsbury is the best price?
I just did a online quote from AXA Car Insurance, they beat Sainsbury by a whopping £100 less a few pence
Just going to call them to make sure!

It's a real swings and roundabouts game.

Greenlight were by far the cheapest for me, 29 yo 10+ years no claims / points, but they were still £480 I think, and £80 rise from the Cooper D the previous year.

More Than, who Davyboy has recommended in the past wouldn't even quote me on the S, despite having previously insured the car when it was in Dave's ownership!

Forget AXA Car Insurance
Not what it seems after a close look @ what you get,
So have decided to stay with Sainsbury's

As Phil said I've used More Than for a few years and the Cooper S was about £250 with only £100 excess my new JCW is only £40 more with the same excess Very Happy

Maybe my age helps Wink

It sure does Dave. ... In Dec I paid £370 for the new JCW with £200 ex. That was with MINI. It was a lot cheaper than MORE THAN, and around the same cost as my 05 MCS. Don't think they like the young drive . Anyone else with MINI!...

Yes, I am and you are right I am sure its down to age. My Cooper D cost me around £265-270 last December when they took in to account more than 5 years no claims bonus gained whilst driving a company car and 1 year with them. I went with them originally because of the free 7 day cover when you first buy a new car and their annual cover seemed to be competitive with the other quotes I was getting.

I like the way you said " in there eyes" . jocolor

It is a fact that more males die in car accidents and it not the female fitting them Frying Pan

I've had a few claims in my old MCS Tear
- Electric garage door came down on bonnet, leaving a big dent - my fault, a blonde moment! angel
- Some idiot drove into the side of me (Volvo, so the MINI didnt stand a chance) - not my fault but it still goes on record
- Speeding ticket only x1 goofy

These things do make a difference Dave

seems that way, its not often that insurance companies actually reduce if u stay with them which is a pleasant change, seem to recall Elephant and Admiral telling me to jog-on as they wouldn't lower theirs if i stayed...

hoping next year once my points and accident can be removed that it will drop considerably...

check this, just gave Adrian Flux a ring for a quote over the phone, they quoted me £419 instead of the original £465, that's a whole £25 less than my renewal quote with 1st Central and they will let me modify it too !!!

Happy days - credit card handed over - done...
