On our way home today my engine magament light came on. Had a fault code reader and its saying PO326 is faulty which is the knock sensor. Bit of a strange sensor to be faulty.what do you think why it would be faulty?

Cheers Janet. i might not be in the area so best give him my number.
Found out one of the causes is different octane of fuel. ever since ive owned the car ive always put vpower in.but on friday eveywhere has run out so i put normal fuel in. so i reckon that has caused it to play up or possably damp.

My light came on too when I switched from BP Ultimate to Optimax - its done it on another mini i know of too - they replaced the Lambda sensor on mine as it was causing issues with the gearbox, although apparently it won't matter on manuals?! I'd get it checked to be safe though.. Took them about an hour to diagnose and fit the sensor. Hope they don't then find as much wrong with yours as they did mine!
