Certainly does make a very very worthwhile difference to the sound. - Mike wrote:

Yes, it swaps front with rear. Do you need to do it - that's down to your own personal choice. Dow you want to do it - yes, of course you do! Save yourself a few quid by reading This Thread Save yourself a few hours' brain deadening dullness by simply skipping to page 26 and checking the diagram, which I've also shown below. |

Naturally I had one wire which was a sod to get out, and one which was a sod to get back in! All sorted with a Torx size 20 to push the buggers out with, and pliers to push them into their new homes.

so in summary all I'm doing is re-homing some wires that are in the 'wrong' place? how long did it take in the end Richard - and did/has it made a noticeable difference to the sound? sorry for all the questions I'm a total dullard with this sort of stuff

The lead's very expensive new but saves a lot of hassle. If Paul doesn't send payment it's yours if you want it

I'm guessing it acts as a bridge to re-route the connections to where they should be? does it make a significant difference Mike?

sorry for all the questions I'm a total dullard with this sort of stuff But that's what forums are for Lee. All together it probably took under an hour, spread over late morning/early afternoon. I stopped for lunch at the point where I couldn't get that one last wire back in. I wasted a lot of time with the one which refused, at first, to come out too. Sound is much more purposeful, far better bass. And here's a photo of the "OMG! WTF have I done?! moment

Great improvement. That pictures is why NMS made the lead for people that didn't feel confident or wanted it to be a quick 5 minute job and is easy to remove/reverse or put in another car

I may well do that fella, has it moved the sound of your PDC sensors? or the bluetooth (not that I use the latter)

I don't have PDC on this one. On the MKI, PDC audio didn't use the stereo system. Bluetooth does move to the rear, not tested it yet though.

I think my Clubman may have the hi-fi upgrade option, judging from what I can tell about the lead Mike has for sale it recommends not using that if this option is present - do you know if the same applies to the DIY swap? my sound does seem pretty feeble, but that could be my dodgy hearing or the fact I play my music too loud (or both!)

Yeah I think it's N/A with the hifi upgrade. Have a look through the 26page NAM link I posted earlier, bound to be mentioned in there somewhere.
