A question for those who stream music to the car via an IPhone....

Can you pick tracks via the cars Idrive stick? (in a nutshell I can't... But I am wondering if the car takes time to copy over the file contents off the IPhone before it works)

If you've used a y cable b4 then I found the only way to get to play via Bluetooth is to go onto the external devices section & unpair your phone, remove the y cable & re pair. After you've done this you should start playing your iPod manually for just the first time & check the phone shows up connected via Bluetooth & that the music icon is illuminated. You may have to do this a few time to get it to work & make sure your speakers ar turned right up as does play quieter than with the y cable. Then once paired & all showing up via the external devices list your iPod should start everytime you put your key in after a few secs without touching anything.

I had to do this for a few days after getting my iPhone 5 b4 my adapters turned up

Then you should b able to use your controls like you wold with the y cable

Hi... I don't have a Y cable. As I have an Ip5 Berry told me I would have to wait for Mini to catch up.

My iPhone 5 works via Bluetooth as I've tried it & the y cable works with the lightning adapter is just mini connected that's playing up Sad

If yours cars brand new & never used a y cable then just pair up & go to external devices & do the second half of above.

If you want me to do it exac & type here just shout as it does work as I was using that way until I got my adapters. It's a faf but is possible

Let me know

Hi

Got a cheapo Y cable off EBay in the post this morning...

Hooks up fine to old Nano. Ip5 works fine over Bluetooth for calls.

I have no music on iPhone, but I do have a new Nano7 with Bluetooth... This hooks up over bt but it seems can't be controlled by the car - which is a shame.

I am waiting on a lightening adaptor, then I will try Mini connected and the Nano7 that way

I can only say about the iPhone & both my 4 & 5 let me use the full controls. Just remembered that when you go to the external devices go your phone details & a list of options & there should b three options configure, remove etc. You want the configure option & make sure the music option is checked!! If it comes u with a message it's not supported you defo need to unpair & re pair then check the option is still checked. It's complicated Sad

Also do with your enguine running
