Hi I have the new style recaro seats fitted and I have noticed that it can be a real struggle to get the seatbelt buckle between the door and the edge of the seat (there really isnt much room). So, I have been taking extra care - as it seems to me that after a while the buckle is going to damage the door liner. However, now I have discovered a tiny nick in the material covering the door right up by the window.... I was a little mystified as to how it could have happened.... until I just took my seat belt off and noticed with horror how the buckle can bash into it as it goes up over the shoulder. So,,, the tiny nick should be easy to fix with a dab of glue and something to push the material back down.... but I am concerned about it happening again.. are there any replacement door card covers out there?? Or better still something which can be fitted over the top of it in this corner? Goldie

Never seen anything! I have had this happen on another make of car and was very annoyed and could only glue it back like you say! Just need to be very careful, is there room to put some foam or similar where it hits?

Me having recaros in my JCW I literally lower of myself into them due to the side bostlers What i do before getting out is unclip the belt and make sure it sits on the seat with the shoulder of the seat holding the seat belt

On the R53 you get a little plastic slidy thing that you can use to adjust the seatbelt buckle height resting point - you might be able to get somewhere if you adjust that... Works on my r53 with jcw seats and on my r50 without...

I hold onto the clasp of mine when I undo it and feed it back to the anchor point so it doesnt whack the door.

When I remember, I put the buckle in the recess in the pillar that houses the seatbelt. Seems to fit quite snugly in there.

Hi I have been using the feed it back in by hand method..... no more annoying damage to date. I also clip the buckle into the recess - as it stops rattles on the passenger side.
