Hi Everyone, Hoping that you can help. So since i have had my JCW i haven't been able to play music through my AUX socket under the centre console as it come out all muffled. I went up to mini today to have it looked at. They made sure i had the right cable. I plugged my phone in and it came out all muffled. They plugged in another iPhone and it worked fine. They then tried a iPod and it worked fine. My iPod doesn't though. They told me where i had downloaded my songs from itunes, the BitRate was too high for the car to cope with. Anyone else heard this before? Thanks Harry

I've not connected my iPhone to my JCW via cable, mainly because Mini dont have a connector for the iPhone 5 yet. But I do connect it regularly via Bluetooth and have never had an issue with any of the songs that I've downloaded sounding muffled. It may be worth contacting Apple online or going to one of their outlets to see if they can help.

Found an old iPod, that worked fine. Played the same song off of my iPhone 4 and my Mums iPhone 4s and it sounded awful both times. Was thinking maybe it just cant recognise newer models of phone, but they tried a iPhone 4 at MINI and it worked fine. Quite annoying really

Mine works fine with iPhone 4S and iPod Classic have both 6 & 7 gen and all work fine Have well in excess of 6000 tunes from multiple downloads and rips at all sorts of bit rates And as yet not found a track it can't play. Just a thought have you tried changing the aux input level if it distorted ?

| When iPod / phone is playing the screen displays list gen art alb track Rnd LEV Tp and the back up symbol Press LEV 3rd button from steering wheel this the displays aux volume the higher you have this the lower the output needs to be from the device and therefore sounds better!
