Not to be trusted. Any servicing is done in the BMW workshop next door. I would never trust BMW in any way shape or form. How about this then? I wanted to have the tracking checked, and they wanted £250 to do that. My Mini has an occasional misfire when accelerating hard, and a feint tinkling engine rattle, so I asked them to check that and they charged me £60 to connect it to the diagnostics system, (so they said, but who knows?) and said they could find nothing. I also have a rubbing sound coupled with wheel rotation coming from the front, again they could find nothing wrong, did they actually look? My advice, and from my experiences, is to take your pride and joy to a proper Mini dealership that isn't linked to a BMW service centre, and you will probably get great service. ie Mini at Tattenham Corner and Reading have given me great service. Cooper Cobham, Vines at both Crawley and Guildford have consistently not, and ripped me off in the process.

Dealer experiences vary so much. I use barons at farnboro for mine at the moment, and apart from 1 minor hiccup which they swiftly rectified they have been very good indeed. I know Davyboy uses vines at Guildford. As soon as my warranty runs out my JCW will be going to Twg at camberley.

Twg can still service your car without invalidating your warranty...

I'm going back to my old job soon in Reading, so can go via Camberley if necessary. Maybe I should try TWG too as my warranty on my JCW has just run out. I wondered if that is why Vines in Crawley said they couldn't find anything wrong, so I'd have to pay for it myself once the warranty ran out. (me? Cynic? Too right )
