I just wondered if there is an option or a way to get auto night time mode on the MINI sat nav? The screen is very bright at night and it's a pain to have to select night time mode. I didn't see anything in the manual when I looked. My garmin has the option and I got used to it.

Thanks Ali, will drop her a PM. Hi Emily, yes I do this, but on my garmin, it automatically goes into night mode at a certain time or something without me doing anything. Whereas in the MINI I have to change between the daytime and nighttime whilst driving. Just wondered if there was an auto setting I was missing??

So do you leave it on night time mode, even in the day? Does the screen look alright? I just find it weird that it doesn't auto adjust like my sister's much cheaper Toyota yaris.

Thanks. Maybe I will do that instead then, just keep it on night mode.

Can't you just turn the screen off? I know you can on BMWs - well maybe the older ones anyway

Yes you can turn the screen off, but if you are following your nav that might not be the best choice!

My Garmin does as well, seems unbelievable that a cheapy unit has it but an expensive one doesn't!! |

I've noticed the same thing Vicks, it's not so bad when you're in a built up area, as the screen doesn't show so much green space, but if you're driving through some countryside and it's just fields, then it's really bright on the screen! I was wondering if there's an auto adjust, but it doesn't look like there is, only the manual one like Emily says - we'll have to wear at night

Thanks guys! Glad it's not just me! Was wondering whether I was just not finding the option! Will try Emily's suggestion of the night mode during the day and see how I get on with that.

I was wondering the opposite. Mine has the pre-LCI system and looks like Night Mode is the only mode...

There is also a grey option when you go into the settings (where you can select night mode). I had a quick look earlier, but I like colour
