Okay, so my boot decided to jam itself shut and wont open.

i called up bmw they told me it was £99 to find the problem.
erm........ think i might give it a go first, save that as a last resort.

1. Ive managed to undo the rear panel and open it manually.

2. i have no voltage signal when i push the open button on the boot. the motor makes no noise when i go to open it whether its opening it by the remote or the button on the boot handle.

3. ive also checked the fuses with the padlock signs and they seem okay.

im guessing it might be a relay however i dnt actually know. my car is in pieces again

i was wondering if anyone had any information on what might be wrong.
also if anyone has the wiring diagram to the lock and relays of the boot.

I had to replace the complete button assembly under the trim on the boot. if you do have to take it in to the garage and they confirm you need the same give me a shout as I have a brand new spare one in the box. my mate brought one by mistake and gave it to me for an R56.

does the boot open when you use the key? or does it only not open when you use the button on the grab handle?

only thin was i had to crack open the boot trim circuit board section, because its plastic welded together.
however inside the boot trim where the handle is. theres a little plastic piece that broke, it pushes on the circuit board switch. (little blue button)

so what i did was i took a wire connector

trimmed it and squashed it in with some adhesive. all working again.

SO much for £99 bmw! cant believe the cheek!! lol

btw Gazza how much would you like for the complete assembly?
