I'm guessing this didn't sell - I looked at the hammer prices for the event and the Mini was not listed...

According to the Mini Cooper Register this Radford Mini Cooper was first owned by Beatle Geoge Harrison and presented to his then girlfriend and later wife, the model Patti Boyd. Darryl Plumridge bought the car in 1987 and restored it some years ago but it has remained unused ever since.

So what would you say its actual value is?

The hammer went down at £22K which equates to £26K including buyers premium for this other unrestored 'barn find' Radford Mini Cooper above in 2013. Sounds like alot of money but remember it's a Radford, it's mostly complete, not in that bad a shape and has great provenance going back to original owner Beatle George's brother Peter Harrison, via Beatle Manager Brian Epstein's company complete with it's history and original 60's photos.
By the time restoration is complete it will be in a similar price range to the fully restored 'Patti Boyd' Radford but like all these type of cars the prices are really achieved when at least two wealthy buyers desire the car or see it as a good long term investment. Many classic cars are now seen as investments with no capital gains tax payable on any profits made.

I owned this Radford Cooper 'FGO592C' in my youith, from 1979 to around 1983, My father helped to do it up a bit, I was always skint so the partial restoration was done on a shoe string. It was originally metallic black. I loved the car and would never have parted with had it not been for cash flow problems. I never got around to restistering it in my my name, as I thought I would have to give up the original Green Log Book, bearing Brian Epsteins signature.
