So, I recently acquired a steering wheel centre spoke for the Clubbie - my question is how (without disconnecting the fuse) do I remove it without the horn going off full blast...

...I can't seem to find a civilised time/place to just let it annoy so would welcome any (sensible) suggestions!

thanks in advance
Smile

Lee, If I've read your message right what you wish to do, for safety reasons you should always disconnect the battery if you are playing about with the steering wheel centre boss because of the airbag under the boss could go off accidentally.

Ok here's what to do

1) disconnect battery
2) take air bag off - use a small flat end screw driver, like the one we used on the bulbs. Feel your hand on the underside of the steering wheel there shud be a hole insert and push. You are pushing against a little bar. When engaged it shud Pop. Then you kinda wiggle the air bag off.
3) be careful not to pull the air bag off yet as there is a small ribbon attached to it. Disconnect this.
4) the little spoke will now simply prise off. Gently prise it around the outaide.
5) stick the new on in its place. No clips just pushes into the steering wheel.
6) revers what I said lol

Haynes 12.14, section 12

Remove right hand front wheel arch lining.

Good luck!

I'd stick with whipping the fuse out.

Also have some black MFSW controls to match if you're that way inclined?
