Good old insurance, it's just numbers, statistics and calculators, they never actually look at what people are doing!
Insurance companies are also saying that due to the number of claims caused by criminals causing an accident in order to make a claim especially for injury payout (false injury)has increased premiums. |

| I was under 25 when I got my first protected NCB. I had 4 years NCB and was told by my insurer at the time that I was a liar, as no firm would offer Protected NCB to an under 25, let alone with less than 5 years. So off I went to the firm that was. At the time I was 22 and have paid the extra on the premium for it ever since. |

| How much would you guess it costs to insure a driving school car? Any driver over 17 on road on provisional. Any driver over 25. Over 14 off road. Disqualifieds. Replacement dual control car same day regardless of fault. All tests without me on board. Lots of personal cover and £20 million property damage. All legal expenses. How much do you think? It's a 5 year old MINI one. |

| Well only 4 played the guessing game, probably the others are worried their guesses are going to be way out. I'll post the answer later today, hopefully a few more might have a guess. |

You were very close. It's £575.74. That's with Lloyds through a specialist driving school company called Waveney. Then I add breakdown cover for £49. I was surprised when I first became a driving instructor 8 years ago how low it is. |

| Thats not a bad figure at all considering all the different types of learners you deal with. I did look into teaching a while back, got one of the DSA learning manuals they do for it, but thats as far as I went as I had second thoughts about it and oter things happened. Maybe have a look into it again in the future. |
