Hello! Needing to change the battery on our R56 JCW, have the battery, but I believe the car requires it to be registered via the OBD2 port. Does anyone in the south coast area happen to have the software I could potentially borrow? (Lots of beer will be thrown their way of course!). Alternatively, are there any recommendations to suitable equipment to buy? Have been burnt a couple of times buying "genuine" Ford tools to be delivered horrific Chinese copies, so any pointers are greatly welcomed! Thanks for reading! George.

Whereabouts on the South Coast are you George? I have a Carly adapter and app on my phone, with the battery in-app enabled - I've not registered a battery with it yet so haven't tested it, but I should be able to do it for you

Don't worry about it! You're not that far from me at all then, I'm only in Worthing When are you looking to do it? I'm away from this coming Friday til the Monday, but could potentially do an evening this week or the following week/weekend if either suit

That's great, thank you very much, I really appreciate it! I can swap out the battery tomorrow after work, and I could swing by your place Tuesday evening?. Most likely around 6? If there's any better days this week I'm easy!

I think I might be out Tuesday evening, Thursday might not be good either actually. I could possibly do tomorrow evening (a bit later to give you chance to swap it out), or Wednesday? I don't mind coming to you if it's easier and gives you a bit more time to do it

You're right to code it in. I too have the Carly software but have not tested it. If you don't code in the battery you risk cooking it in a few months.
