Hi All, Looking for a bit of advice. The clutch on my R53 is really, really heavy. The pedal bite point is ok, around the halfway point. I don't think there is any slippage, though it does feel a little juddery on take up. Anyone suffered with anything similar? Thanks

I had the same thing on my R56 JCW. Yes the clutch and flywheel are going which lasted me a good 90,000 miles

I always found the clutch on my R53 to be very heavy, but it was still going strong at 75000 miles when I traded it in. It was particularly noticeable when going back to driving it after spending time in a second gen MINI.

My cars covered 69K but I think the previous owner (a little old lady - honestly!/) may have been a bit hard on the clutch. Its been to Barons Hindhead for some other work and they have advised a new clutch. Just wanted a second opinion on whether this was likely or they are trying to extort more money from me. They've quoted a cool grand to do it which is a bit eyewatering.

Lovely job - I see looking at their website they use genuine BMW parts which is great. They also seem to be highly regarded on this forum, certainly more so than Barons!
