Popped over to a local independant mini dealer yesterday to get his mechanic to check Gretel over.

Dispite disappearing for 1 1/2 hours, he did a reasonable job, found a few things, including my rattle, but couldnt identify what the pulley damper was for or why is had come off/loose. So not really inspired with confindence in giving them her to work on.

So today back to iRock Performace to see what they can do, nothing a problem, work space so clean and inspiring, they build bmw trackday / drift cars in their own time to race, so they know a thing or two about cars and bmw's

So dispite not being mini specialist, I think I am giving the car over to them to work on.

Things to do.

Front Left Suspension Top Mount Split (replacing both side to reliability, with Bilstein Top Mounts brackets)
RHS Engine mount blown, interestingly it is a 02/2004 build but it has a new style, oil filled engine mount. Replacing with the same, also fitting all other engine mounts with powerflex bushes
Replacing blown Belt Tensioner Damper, Power Flex Bushes and Alta Tensioner Stop.

That should give me a good base to play with. hehe.

Should be able to announce what we are doing in June next year early Dec and start fund raising.

Stage2 Complete.

New Clutch, which has made a massive difference to her pull.
New oils & seals all round.
New Brake Fluid.
New slave clutch cylinder.

So I just need to find the source of a rear passenger quater panel rattle and I have a very sorted toy for track days and my EU trip in June.

I had a rattle that I found hard to find then found it to be the aerial cable tapping behind a panel as a clip had broken! This was in the roof but sounded like it was coming from the side..

Thanks for that, it is a little heavier than the usual cable flapping about, but I might have Friday to take it apart and have a look.

Thanks for the pointer.

I had a boot rattle that turned out to be the rubber bump stops on the boot lid - a quick wind out half a turn fixed it.
