Interesting. I suspect this will all get resolved quite quickly. I thought I had the right adapter for BimmerCode and Carly but I don’t. Just ordered. Should arrive tomorrow.

| The actual Bimmercode maker came back to me today with information when I asked what do we do.. - Hi Craig, I do not know the exact coding values, but I would recommend disabling the voltage monitoring and switching the lamps to LED. wrote:

Trying to read and translate from foreign forums isn't easy! Apparently on a French forum someone said Gigamot told them to get rid of the error message you need to follow the below: de la séquence de désactivation de ce type : 3061 -> BR_L_KALTUEBERWACHUNG -> Nicht Aktiv (cold watch monitoring off) 3061 -> BR_L_WARMUEBERWACHUNG -> Nicht Aktiv (warm monitoring off) 3061 -> BR_L_IS_LED -> Aktiv 3061 -> BR_R_KALTUEBERWACHUNG -> Nicht Aktiv 3061 -> BR_R_WARMUEBERWACHUNG -> Nicht Aktiv 3061 -> BR_R_IS_LED -> Aktiv Another pic:

I asked someone else who said they cleared the error "with a new software update E-SYS software" Not sure what that is! Mulgari have the lights on there website now no price as yet and it comes with an adapter to sort the dash light out error. However they won't be selling the adapter separately - unsure why as they have missed a trick there I say! https://mulgari.com/products/f56-mini-union-jack-rear-lights?make=mini

I keep finding new information out but none is 100% Someone has suggested that Mulgaris *fix* for the bulb out error is basically just a Canbus warning canceller by Philips for example and many other brands... apparently they also are anti-flicker (a few people say on start up these lights currently flicker) https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F302426280636 Or https://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/car-accessories/car-accessories-products/lighting-accessories/xenon-conversion-kits/?971775121&0&cc5_774&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI_vv9tf_n2QIVq7DtCh1FOQUDEAQYASABEgLVnvD_BwE Not sure if that would work?

The flickering issue is due to the bulb failure detection system pulsing the lighting circuits to check for continuity. The pulses are too quick to light normal filament bulbs but not LEDs so they flicker. Not a big issue. LEDs draw so little current that it appears to the system that the bulb has blown so replacement LED bulbs (used to replace a normal filament bulb)have a bypass resistor so the LED draws enough current to fool the system and stop it showing a fault light. If the Mulgari UJ adapter stops the flickering it is more sophisticated. Their refusal to sell separately will let them choose their price point for the package.

So do you think these Philips and eurocarparts adapters will work and do the same thing?

Let’s see what the connectors are like on the new lights. My BimmerCode adapter arrived yesterday but I’ve not had a chance to try it yet.

That sounds positive Craig re the coding. Mine have arrived to and I may do the same if I have time but I am pretty busy this weekend. The plug on the back is a single multi-pin rectangular connector. Interestingly the reversing light is still a normal 21W tungsten bulb.

Strange I am sure I read somewhere it's because of law/regulations but I can't see what harm a LED reversing light would do! They arnt actually full LED lights as a lot of people describe them then lol... nearly full LED lights! I got mine today but fell asleep when I got in from work now it's dark outside I don't think I should attempt it. newministuff also have these for sale now (@£251)

I've given up I can't do it. I've already broken the chrome trim around the outside and my torx t20 isn't good enough I need a torx t20 with a handle on it like a screwdriver as bolts are in too stiff I can't even get the light out great start LOL

Sounds like you're having a tough time. I will see how I get on with mine and let you know. There are a few options if the bolt heads are burred and which may involve some careful drilling. You need perhaps to get hold of some new bolts first.

| A local garage has sorted it! All fitted! Waiting for my replacement chrome trim as I broke one opps. Will take pics when I can. Oh and found this about the error code: - Hi, Today my F57 has been coded with Esys, by a Esys specialist outside the Mini-BMW network, and flickering has disappeared. Flickering on Brake light and turn signal was present after the mounting of tail light Union Jack. Coding has been done under FDL. It can be delete in case of update on ECU by Mini. The best way is a coding under VDO but the official code is not yet known, hope soon. Forget solutions based on CanBus warning canceller ( Mulagri's solution is one of them), it is not a clean operation, a clean installation. So I am an Happy owner of Union Jack tail lights that do not flicker More information, in French, here : http://www.forum-auto.com/marques/mini/sujet5997-490.htm#bas wrote:

That's good news on the coding, sounds pretty simple with Carly! If you want me to code them for you Craig, just let me know Look forward to seeing some pics of both your cars

Thanks Ian I will probably take you up on that offer. Do you have Carly app too? These were tricky for me to put on but others didn't have problems so hopefully nobody else does! Getting a bit of attention from these on the road! But as they are standard? On all LCIs they will soon become normal. So enjoy it while it's still new lol

Yeah I have the Carly app and adapter too, just let me know when you want to do it and we’ll sort something out The problems you had might just be due to your car being 4 years old, so the bolts are a little bit more seized than say a year old car or something. At least you got them done in the end

| Top tip though - don't rush it take your time don't get over excited like I did and do it in daylight! Ha My local garage didn't even want to take any money off me! This snow needs to stop so I can wash my car and take better pics! Ian will you be buying UJs for Groot?

Fitted mine - no issues with the fitting but the old ones are not LED so I will have to code. I will put a dab of silicone grease on the old bolts before I put them back in - it will make them easier to remove next time. Hopefully I will get the hang of my Bimmercode and sort that out.

Got some pics Phil? They say LEDs last years but you can't get to the bulbs anymore so if they ever do need replacing you have to buy a whole new unit I'm guessing!

No pics as I have yet to refit the screws and bezels. I will do that once I have dealt with the codes. I made the schoolboy error of not realising you need to pay the £25.99 to actually get Bimmercode to do anything (I had wondered) - anyway I've done that and will get back to it in the morning. LEDs should last a very long time.

People are saying bimmercode won't work until the maker has updated it. Which is annoying. Do you have the Carly app? Try that. My battery is going to be dead the amount of times I keep putting the lights on having a look at it haha
