Fault 1) Washer fluid low.  No. It. Is. Not!
Reported at last service but ignored by Vines.
Rescheduled for investigation on Monday 7th

Fault 2) Right signal sometimes clicks quickly. Didn't this used to happen if there was a duff bulb in the circuit?
Is that still an issue now it's all LEDs?

Fault 3) Pedestrian warning system fault.
Not good!


Added 2&3 to the list for Monday.
And at £120/hr for diagnostics, I hope they find all three quickly.

Aren’t these problems covered by the warranty?

I've no idea.

I bought it in March 2017 when it was about 2 and a half years old.

Last service (Oct 2018) was the end of the TLC free/prepaid ones.

I’d really push to get it through under warranty anyway.

It's not very acceptable for a vehicle just over four years old, and with just 9900 miles on the clock.

Or if it is out of warranty give Will at TWG a ring. A lot cheaper than main dealer prices and he’s really good.

Definitely not. There’s no way I’d pay for work like that. That should be covered.

Don’t speak to the normal service receptionist ask for the service manager or I think mini now have customer relationship managers. Also put it in writing what the faults are and what you want done about it and if you don’t get any joy copy in mini UK.

This is who I saw at the service. He specifically noted the washer fluid thing on the service documents, but nothing was done.
I also asked for prices on winter wheels, all I got was a ridiculous price for four new like-for-like wheels & winter tyres!
And I also asked for help setting up Spotify, but no one was available to help.
Finally, I asked for TLC+ or whatever it's called now. Again, nothing.

When I collected the car, there's like five, six desks and only two staff.
No apology for the wait.

Good idea with writing the faults down. I'll do that, and tell them that I want all three repaired FOC as the car is young and such low mileage.

I do have a loan car reserved, which helps.

As the vehicle is just over 4 years old, has done under 10K miles, and been fully serviced by Vines Crawley, I would expect these faults to be investigated and repaired at no cost to myself.

The limited mileage is good and that its been looked after by MINI.

I'd also put in there that you reported the problems and that the car has already been in for the issues and they were not rectified or even looked at and that the car seems becoming worse with more faults appearing and you are concerned that they maybe linked as its all seems electrical.

Just a thought, did they give you a report sheet of the work that they carried out last time?

No, just the invoice and an advisory that the runflat tyre kit was past its expiry date.

MINI should give you a report sheet of any work/inspections done. I've always had one from Barons on my previous cars. I'd still mention that the car came in for reported faults and they were not rectified or looked at.

Sounds like they need reminding that you are the customer.........

When I phoned them after Christmas to report the washer fluid alert still being shown, she said she could see I'd mentioned it and it was written on the paperwork.
She had no idea why nothing was done, just booked it back in again for next Monday...

I assume you bought from Vines or another dealer in which case id have thought it came with a Cherished used car warranty which is for 1 years cover so should still have a warranty..

I bought it in March 2017, so it's way beyond that unfortunately.

Oops I’ve lost a year somewhere I was thinking it was 2018

Had to deal with a service advisor, as no senior staff around.

Vines Gatwick? they are, in my experience, pretty poor - you need to find the one decent employee and hope they don't go to work elsewhere!

Indicator noise was a duff bulb. (They're not all LEDs then. Interesting.)
Washer fluid not yet looked at.
Pedestrian warning system: Technician asks for another two hours' diagnostic time, which means we're already at around £400, before any repairs are done!

And the loan car is on reserve fuel.

I believe the only LED lights on the F56's of that age are the optional LED headlights, which have the LED DRL's and the 'LED' rear lights (which apparently aren't LED as such), and the numberplate bulbs too. Indicator bulbs aren't LED.
