Morning, had a nightmare this weekend, my new coolant expansion tank is leaking (lesson learnt not buying OEM). And on Saturday the mini made a very weird noise, que dashboard lighting up with warning lights and a super lumpy ride. Managed to nurse it home, overwhelming smell of burning rubber coming from the engine. Gave it a quick scan it threw up P1688. Turns out my crankshaft pulley has broken, and thrown it's belt Crying or Very sad

So anyway, anyone had this replaced and knows the approx cost? Car will defo need towing to the garage. Sad times.

Aaaah no, that's not good Frown

I don't know about cost I'm afraid, you could give Will at TWG a call (one of our sponsors), he'll be able to give you an idea of what they'd charge to replace it Smile

I'd second Will at TWG as well.

Cheers both. Think it might be time for an upgrade after this is fixed, I've seen a nice facelift R56 convertible that should be more reliable and an easily achievable 210 bhp after a remap Wink

Will be a shame for the R52 to go, but an LCI convertible will be nice and as you say easily tuneable High
