Now here's one for you!

A girl at work stopped me yesterday & asked me where the CD changer was on the R56 s
She told me that when she switches the sterio on it comes up with the graphic but she can't seem to find it I told her I didn't have that in mine but in the later models it is in the panel in the dash....but she said she had looked and it aint there
however there is a metal box in the glove compartment but she said they cant remove it or find a way into it

I am well & truly puzzled so I said I would post up about it & see if any of my MINI pals can enlighten me :idea:
by the way its a 07 plate but don't know what month it was 'born'

Think it's a x demo as well cos by the sound of it it has all the buttons, bells & knobs on it

That is an odd one! Can't help though Chris, sorry. Hope someone else can though!

i thought they were in the glove box? also in the past i have found just because the option is there to select a changer doesn't necesarilly mean you have a changer!

what about under the seat or even in the boot somewhere

I dont know im just guessing
but there is a second glovebox in the passenger dashboard (above the obvious one)
It took me ages to figure out it was there, maybe your friend has made the same mistake?


ps. I hope so now having admitted to embarrasing glovebox error!

When I asked the sales guy if mine had a second glovebox he had no idea he had to go & see

That makes me feel abit better!

Mine is my second glovebox bit, the guy who sold it to me didnt even know it was there! I found it when playing on the way home with it!

thanks guys.......I think she has tried all the above options I suggested those aswell & it's got me puzzled think it may me as ollie said the option is there but it's not been fitted.....

If a 6 CD changer was selected as an option, it should be situated within the extra storage capacity area (secret compartment) This option is above the normal glovebox and is actually part of the dash! You need to push the dash fascia for it to open out and up. The CD changer should be situated within and has one slot to insert all 6 CD's!

Best I could find! Here is the 'Dash secret compartment'
Give it a push and it pops up! This pic shows another type of head unit . But this is where the cd changer should be situated if they have one! It should have one slot on the front of the CD player for inserting the 6 cd's!

I guessed as much Rob......she said it aint in there! so maybe it's not been fitted or removed before she bought it?
