 idle problem

Hi all. Just got back from somerset. Just pulled onto the drive and noticed the mini isnt ideling as it should. Its going from 900rpm then to just over a 1000rpm then drops to 900 it does slowly.in thinking pos air leak or idle control valve?

Mine was lambda senser when it was doing that see the bandit for one

Wouldnt it bring the ecu light on? Because thats what happend to my old car. Oh did you get me tex yesterday

not if it is your pre cat 02 sensor. MCS has one before the cat and one after. The post cat sensor brings the EML light on. Plug a diagnostic in see if there are any codes. Normaly when the pre cat 02 sensors go you have rough running and poor fuel consumption
It could be a number of things MAF sensor can cause this as well. Same a dirty throttle body
It could even be the car having a bad day see what it's like tomorrow.

Nothing wrong with the fuel consumption because weve just clocked 340miles which is good for me. But i was hitting three digets for nearly 2hours on a private road of corse. Wink

yes i did get your text and yes we would love to come , no my light never came on took it to the car clinic on hambridge road ( phils contact though work ) and they told us what it was

give it a night off and see what it's like tomorrow and go from there might just be the car having a funny turn

Found the problem this morning. My air diverter on the ic was hanging off. All sorted now.
