The one at Slough was actually pretty mark free - maybe they've tidied it up since you went to see it? The guy obviously think he has the first one built The reason i posted it up is to get a comparison on 2 similar cars price and condition! MINI didn't number the GP II; they are ALL 1 of 2000 (Not number 1 of 2000). Mine says 1 of 2000 on the door sill trims and dash badge. Once you have made your purchase, contact MINI with your VIN and they will give you your genuine number. Steve, if you are serious about buying a GP II I highly recommend you get a second set of wheels / tyres; they are not an everyday drive with the semi-slick Kumhos believe me |

Mini at Bedford rang me as they have a GP too and without even seeing my car offered me a lot more than Slough. This is the link to the car. www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201505023134125?atmobcid=soc4
I am not going to proceed any further with a GP, as for me personally, I don't think it's an every day car and will now possibly concentrate on a new jcw or the civic type r. Agreed; I wouldn't drive mine as an everyday car |

It will be my everyday but but I guess I'm in a unique position of doing fairly low mileage with the occasional commute on fairly driveable country roads with no family or dependants where I need the rear seats. My only hesitation is I only have street parking, but I don't think my area is too shady... |

| UPDATE - I called Slough to put a deposit down this morning, but they told me the car was sold yesterday! So I was a bit late on that one. I then noticed on my local dealer's group stock they are partnered with other dealers in the group, once of which (Elms of Bedford) has a GP. I called Brighton and told them my story and asked if they could match the deal in terms of trade up value etc. Just had a call back saying they want an extra £250, but i've agreed to to that since this car has a private number plate and is on a 63 plate rather than 13, so a good deal I think. Popping in this afternoon to drop off a deposit |

| I spoke to a guy called Adam Moore, one of the salesman at Elms Bedford about that GP. He told me it's a clean car but it did have a nasty dent/crease in one of the doors which has been repaired by the previous owner before he handed it over to them, so I would make sure that its been done properly before handing over any cash. |

| Thanks for letting me know about that Mike... They have told me the car will be in showroom condition, if it it arrives on Thursday with that mark I won't be taking the car! |

| But that's not always possible. My dad and Chandlers Brighton's sales manager go back a bit and there's some trust there. Trust me, we won't be buying the car if it's not in order! |

| I would imagine you're covered by the goods of sales act regardless - if it's not right, then they have to sort it. Hope the miserable weather stops before delivery! |

| Personally I would never use Sytner Slough again after my experience last year. My aircon stopped working so a good friend recommended Sytner Mini Slough, introducing me to a rep who I will not name. Over the telephone I was assured it was only probably a re-gas of the aircon that was required which would cost me circa £50. I thought this was a steal so I gladly obliged. Upon arrival things started to deteriate rapidly. After an hour the rep tells me that they tried re-gassing the compressor but it appears to be faulty. They didn't even test the system first. Just assumed it would work after being re-gassed. He then told me not to worry as they would do a fault diagnosis to find the problem. After four hours of sitting around waiting in the showroom, the rep delivers some bad news. He confirmed the compressor was faulty and the quote for a new one was £1000. No word of a lie! I declined but still had to pay around £120 for the FAILED re-charge and the diagnosis. I couldn't believe it. In the subsequent days I filed a formal complaint and at least got the £50 back for the botched re-gas. Thanks to Will at TWG, who fitted a new compressor and re-gassed my air con for half of that price. AVOID Sytner Mini Slough at all costs. Cheers, Alex. |

| oops sorry I didn't update this thread! i went to buy it but someone else had beat me to it - which is fine as the latest update is that Brighton Chandlers Mini sourced one from Bedford Elms and it came down today. It looked great, has dealer fit DRLs (which no one at the dealer noticed ), was 4 months newer and they put a brand new set of tyres on it as on inspection today I complained they were a little low. £190 a tire!!! So yes i'm happy with the car, and I pick it up on Monday

| Just thought i'd add a good word for Sytner Slough.... just bought ours there and they were excellent. Ok... not perfect..... only just had enough petrol to get me to a garage... but thats just the shape of things to come. Good dealership and nice people..... if you have kids they will love it! Playstations (racing Mini's of course), TV, drinks, table football, ride on electric mini's, remote control mini's a boutique its more like an amusement arcade!..... they sell the odd Mini too. |

| They did start up a Sytner Slough JCW Club a while back, which seemed to disappear after a couple of meets. Wonder what happened to it? |

The person who set it up moved on. I still get parts discounts and service adviser has always waived the loan car fee - but now he's gone too I don't know what will happen when Jacksons in for his delusional electric issues. |

That's the problem in the motor trade, a lot of the "good" people move on, and the little personal deals you have in place all fall to pot.... |
