Boot Handle - Painting/Wrapping Vide
PostSubject: Boot Handle - Painting/Wrapping   Boot Handle - Painting/Wrapping Empty4th April 2016, 19:00

Does anyone know much about wrapping or spray painting the boot handles on the F56? As a slight complication mine has the reversing camera built into it.

I'm thinking about getting the boot handle and possibly the bonnet scoop done in the same red as the JCW roof and wing mirrors.

Always just swapped parts for chrome bits before thus avoiding the need to paint or wrap...

Any ideas on where to start would be appreciated!

You could give Dan a email (club sponsor Dan that is) or Tom knows someone for painting, he did Phils light rings..

I emailed Dan, but waiting for him to reply.

In the meantime, I got a quote from a paint shop very near to me in Bisley to paint my door handles, front grill and fuel filler cap in black, plus a doing a couple of other bits. They quoted around £350-400. They are very good and I used them when my R56 JCW got damaged. If you're interested let me know and I'll sort their number out.

What type of wrap are you thinking of? I have some experience wrapping on my dashboard, and indicators. I might be able to help.

I assume it's still chilli red!

I would think the scoop would be hard to wrap...

If you could PM me the details it would be great.

It sounds like spray painting them Chilli red may be the way forward verses wrapping. I'm thinking about getting spares to paint so I can keep my originals to swap back later.

I suspect you'll also have troubles with it getting a bit warm too - my OEM chrome scoop splintered under the heat of the turbo (I realise the layout of the F56 may differ) Smile
