A couple of strange omissions from Mini Vide
PostSubject: A couple of strange omissions from Mini   A couple of strange omissions from Mini Empty15th January 2017, 20:55

Hi,

I know i'm very new to Mini, but there are a couple of glaring omissions that i'm really missing.

1. Temp gauge! I'm old fashioned but I want one!! Great to glance at and see all is well with the coolant and engine especially on a hot day in traffic.

2. A "lights on" light. I like to know when my lights are on or off.

3. The fob entry isn't lit... We have LED lit door card storage in any colour I want at 12 different brightnesses but I can't see where the key goes in when its dark. Laughing

Ok, thats 3 things but who's counting. At least it has a dip stick unlike my last BMW!

We absolutely love the Mini though, and i'm spending loads of time and money improving it. Its hard to find something that my wife can drive daily and like, and I can enjoy driving it when I jump in, but I think we've found it in the Mini.

What a Face

Point 1 - if you have mini connected you can get one on the dynamic instruments (or whatever the name is)

Point 2 - it's pretty obvious Wink All of the instruments light up orange rather than having black lines for a start!

Point 3 - very true, that said the key slot was never lit up effectively on any car I can remember!

I'll have a go at the connected...thanks... still one of the only cars around without a temp gauge though!

Its not obvious at all when its daylight and I don't know if the auto lights are off & if the xenons are the reason I've been flashed. Yes in the dark its obvious...

I'm sure the key will become second nature in time... but I did have lit key entry on 2 previous cars.... ill pay for comfort access when we order from new (one day!)

None of these stop me loving the car!! Just pointing out what we noticed missing. All minor stuff other than the temp gauge Wink

Lee (wicker'd wonder) used a bluetooth set up from the port in the glovebox to send to a smartphone

For some reason I can't link it but look under the following links and the post date...
